About Rovertown’s V4 Passwordless Login
Rovertown's V4 Passwordless Login simplifies the login process for app users, providing a secure and convenient experience. By requiring only a phone number, users can easily access the app without the hassle of remembering usernames and passwords.
Recommendations on how to notify your app users
As a result of the migration to Rovertown's new login system, all users will be logged out of your app and will be required to log back in using the new V4 login. To ensure a smooth transition, here are three ways to notify your app users about this update:
1. Push Notification
Consider sending a push notification to your users ahead of time. You can use the following message as a template: "Your app is being upgraded! Please log in using your mobile number and the one-time code provided when prompted."
2. Medium Special
Place a medium sized Special on the home page with brief copy that explains the upgrade. You can use the following Canva template an upload it as a Special in Core.
3. Takeover Special
Takeover Special images appear as a modal and fill almost the entire screen. This is great for getting your users to pay attention to an important change to the app. . You can use the following Canva template an upload it as a Special in Core. *Please note that Takeover Specials are an admin function, so please provide me at least 24 hours notice if you wish to deploy one.
Resolving User Login Challenges
V4 login requires users to have a ten-digit mobile number and the ability to receive SMS messages. Please note that landlines and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) numbers will not work. In the rare event that a number is not verified in our system, you can follow these steps to override and create a code:
Check if the user's phone number is verified in our system.
If the user's phone number is not verified, search for any records of a rejected phone number. If the number is rejected, use the override function in Core to create a new code for the user. (For security purposes, deliver the code via phone call. Avoid sending the code via email or text messages.)
